2012 MTV VMAs Red Carpet - Fashion

Celebs strutting their stuff at the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Miley kinda ripped off her signature updo, but Pink still rocked the red carpet. Wearing a metallic, curve-hugging gown.

Rihanna – who recently cropped her coif – strutted into the Staples Center (sans brazier) in a draped column gown and simple sandals.

Surprisingly, Katy Perry – who showed up sans rumored beau John Mayer – didn’t create a ruckus on the red carpet in an over-the-top getup. Instead, the “Wide Awake” singer kept things relatively simple in a semi-sheer gown that featured pops of turquoise and coral.

Demi Lovato popped a pose in a crystal-encrusted cocktail frock, cropped motorcycle jacket, and hoof-like heels.

Um, did Taylor Swift think she was attending the Republican National Convention? She never wears scandalous ensembles, but something this conservative at the VMAs? She looked crisp and classy, but she also looked four times her age. This was undoubtedly a matronly miss for Miss Swift.

The guys from British boy band One Direction looked cute as always in their fall-like ensembles. In addition to performing at the fete, the lads were nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for their "What Makes You Beautiful" clip.

Alicia Keys donned a rather drab metallic one-shoulder gown that was more appropriate for the Oscars than the VMAs.

Ezra Miller and Emma Watson.

Former “Gossip Girl” actress Jessica Szohr looked fierce in a black bustier, sheer skirt, and an animal-print headband.

Miley Cyrus upon arriving at the star-studded 2012 MTV VMAs. What you do make of the former Disney darling’s daring ‘do? Hot ... or not?
